It’s varoom time in Pittsburg!
Wintertime is go-season in the Great North Woods. Snowmobilers from throughout New England and southern Canada come to Pittsburg, the snowmobiling capital of New England.
People come to enjoy the hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails that snake through the deep woods and around the many lakes and ponds in our town. The trail system here–ably maintained by our local Pittsburg Ridge Runners club–links with other trail systems in Quebec, Vermont, Maine and our NH neighbors to the south.
There are almost limitless destinations to explore in hours of snow-blasting fun. In fact, getting around on a snowmobile–to visit the gas station, restaurants, cafes–is a way of life for the residents here as well as a fun activity for visitors.
Many of our guests bring their own machines to the Great North Woods, as all of our 55 cabins are located on or near a snowmobile trail. But others prefer to rent a machine for their stay, and we make that experience as easy as possible. We can arrange great prices on a rental snowmobile, provide up-to-date trail maps, take care of all the NH registration paperwork and even help you sign up as a member of the Ridge Runners … all from our front desk. We’ll even make sure you are fully equipped. Each rental includes a helmet and a trail map. We can rent additional gear–such as bibs, jackets, gloves, and boots — either separately or for one package price.
We’re already booking cabins for our return customers who come back every year for the excitement of the winter experience. If you’ve never tried it, there’s no better time!
Come experience the thrill of riding through the deep snowy woods of winter…begin with breakfast at Treats and Treasures…follow the trails through the forests and around the ponds…stop for cocoa in one of the Ridge Runners’ warming huts…keep an eye out for a moose grazing in the distance…and return back to your fire-warmed cabin late in the afternoon to swap tales of the day or soak away the achy parts in your hot tub!
There’s nothing else like the winter experience at Lopstick. Come see for yourself what all the fun is about!
