For many people, winter is a time to slow down, take stock, remain indoors and wait for the warm sun to return.
There’s no slowing down up here in the North Country! Winter is one of our busiest times of the year. Pittsburg is the snowmobiling capital of New England, and from December through March, we’re hosting all our snowmobiling customers who come to enjoy the hundreds of miles of groomed trails through our snowy woods and frozen lakes and ponds.
All of our warm and comfy cabins at Lopstick are located right on one of those trails, or easily accessible, so we’re truly a drive-in resort in the winter. After a long day out on the trails, there’s nothing better than returning to a cabin, soaking in a hot tub, or stretching out in front of the fire.
Of course, as you’ll read in this season’s newsletter, there are lots of other winter activities for guests to enjoy in the Great North Woods. Hiking trails turn into snowshoe trails. Both Pittsburg and Colebrook have outdoor skating rinks. Cross-country skiers can find miles of gentle terrain to enjoy, many along the scenic banks of the Connecticut River.
We expect to be going strong right through the first weekend in March when everyone up here will enjoy SnoFest 2020 and Reciprocal Weekend for snowmobilers from neighboring states. IF you haven’t booked a stay for March 6-8, better hurry!
So we’ve got no time for winter reflections this year! Our 2020 vision is for even bigger and better things to come. We’ve got four seasons of fun to offer you and your family, and we hope to see you up here in the North Country one day soon.
